I have worked for Altrad RMD Kwikform for the last 30 years and have inadvertently become one of the country’s leading experts in falsework and formwork. I have been the UK Chief Engineer since 2007, heading up a team of around 50 engineers and technicians.
In 2018, I was very proud to become a Fellow of the ICE.
Throughout my career I have contributed to some of the UK’s major and most iconic projects, including the London 2012 Aquatics Centre, the M2 Medway Crossing, the Second Tyne Tunnel in Newcastle upon Tyne, and the London Millennium Bridge.
I am an active member of the BSI sub‑committee B514/26, which is responsible for BS5975, and I am also part of CONSTRUCT’s formwork supplier group. Over the years I have published several technical papers and delivered lectures at universities and for the ICE and IStructE.
I have always enjoyed solving problems and getting things done, and I consider myself fortunate to have ended up — almost by accident — in a part of the construction sector where I’ve been able to do exactly that while having a lot of fun along the way.
Outside of work, I am an active Christian worshipping in a Methodist church, I take a leading role in our local Scout group where I run Beavers and serve as GLV, and I try to stay fit through mountain biking, running and walking.
