The Government has issued a Consultation on Building a safer future: proposals for the reform of the building safety regulatory system and a key part of this will be safety reporting for both fire and structural safety issues. These will build on the existing work of CROSS (Confidential Reporting on Structural Safety), the most recent description of which is given in Structural-Safety Group Review 2017-18.
Structural-Safety (https://www.structural-safety.org/) is seeking funds from government and, to help the case, needs positive answers to questions in the Consultation which relate to both mandatory and voluntary reporting. Answers that include examples of the benefits of CROSS, particularly from a temporary works perspective will be particularly welcome.
A short description of the safety reporting proposals can be found here: https://www.structural-safety.org/media/671503/new-safety-reporting-proposals-have-your-say.pdf and this summary lists the three questions Structural-Safety would particularly like you to respond to (with a link to the consultation given at the end of the document). If you decide to go straight to the survey: (https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BuildingSafetyConsultation) the questions are in Chapter 3: Q9, Q10(i), Q10(ii), and Q15. The consultation closes on 31st July 2019.
