City, University of London is seeking applications for its MSc in Temporary works and construction method engineering
MSc, Temporary Works and Construction Method Engineering – Admission: October 2017.
For those involved in the design and construction of temporary works, City University of London’s part-time MSc, Temporary Works and Construction Method Engineering, is seeking applications for a start in October 2017.
The MSc, introduced in October 2016, is the only of its kind in the UK. The two-year, part-time MSc benefits both the individual and the employer, since the combination of theoretical and practical education accelerates learning and provides experience that would normally take many years to gather in the workplace alone.
The course is delivered by both high-ranking academics together with nationally-recognised construction industry experts. This combination of robust theoretical education and real-world application of current in temporary works practice provides both participants and sponsoring employers with a significant competitive advantage.
Sponsoring employers will recognise the economic advantage of enrolling employees onto the MSc course; and also providing employees with a wider understanding of statutory obligations, management techniques and the special design considerations for temporary works.
Releasing an employee one day per week over a period of two years demonstrates that an employer is committed to increasing the learning competence of their organisation; and, furthermore, that they value the competency of their employees and wish to attract, educate and develop them into excellent engineers in the field of temporary works. This will provide a clear message to potential clients that they have a highly-educated workforce, qualified to undertake challenging projects with care.
